Clarinetist and Teacher Kevin holds several degrees

Kevin is a freelance clarinetist and teacher in NYC. He holds a Masters in Music from the Manhattan School of Music in NYC, graduating in 2016. Before that he received a Bachelor in Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in San Francisco, CA in 2014, where he was recipient of a scholarship. He has performed with many orchestras, symphonies, and ensembles from the west coast to the east coast. In 2012 and 2013, he was instructor for a music camp, and has performed in festivals across the country. In 2009, Kevin was winner of the SFSOTA Concerto Competition. He has been a member of the Ohio Light Opera and has performed in master classes. He’s been teaching since 2009 and offers classical and traditional lessons, as well as contemporary styles.

Meet our new instructor Carissa!

Carissa graduated from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, IN in 2016 with a Bachelor in Piano performance and Music Theory. At the university, she accompanied ensembles for all instruments as well as for choirs at a local church, where she also performed as soloist and worked as substitute music director. Carissa began teaching while in college in 2016 and offers classical and contemporary styles. Personality rating: outgoing

Karly has been playing piano since the age of five…

Karly holds a Bachelor with a minor in music from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, graduating in 2013 (major in Psychology). As part of her degree, she was required to take several music theory classes, private weekly piano lessons, and perform for a piano jury at the end of each school year. Karly began her private lessons at the age of five. During elementary through high school, Karly participated in competitions such as TSMTA, NAMTA, and partook in Guild exams throughout her piano career. Karly began teaching in 2015 and offers classical and most contemporary styles.

Robby studied trumpet performance and music education at University of Cincinnati College- Conservatory of Music for his Bachelor of Music and Yale University for his Masters in trumpet performance. During his studies at these universities he attended the Brevard Music Center, Hot Springs Music Festival, National Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival on the New Horizon fellowship, Pierre Monteux Orchestra, Opera Maya Opera Company, Lake George Music Festival (Artist in Residence) and faculty trumpet teacher at Luzerne Music Festival in upstate New York. After completing Yale, he has enjoyed traveling and performing across the world playing in pits for Shen Yun Performing Arts Ballet, Princess Cruise line productions and the international Broadway tour of Disney’s “Beauty and The Beast”. Robby is currently lead trumpet for a local theatre. He’s been teaching since 2009, and offers classical, Broadway, Big Band, and most contemporary styles.

Bryce is one of our newest instructors!

Bryce attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN for one year, and before that he attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN for one year, taking general courses. After his year at Ball State University, he studied privately with an alumni from the university, doing an extensive study on music theory, technique, and a plethora of various styles. He also studied bluegrass guitar with a local Indiana bluegrass musician for two years, who had fifty years of performing experience. Bryce began teaching full time in 2010 at music center in Indiana for all ages, including some with mental and physical handicaps. Bryce has been performing since 2001 and continues to play in bands with well known musicians. Bryce also has experience as a recording musician and is working on an album that will soon be released. He offers rock, pop, jazz, blues, classical, bluegrass/folk, and country styles. Personality rating: easygoing

Master of Music Adrienne- new instructor with Melody Music Studios


Adrienne holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Manhattan School of Music and both a Bachelor of Music in Voice and a Bachelor of Arts in German Language and Literature from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. A great lover of the art song, Adrienne has been privileged to study and perform this repertoire at music festivals such as Tanglewood, Songfest, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Crane School of Music’s Fall Island Institute, where she was one of six singers personally selected by mezzo soprano Stephanie Blythe to receive full fellowships for a week of intensive one-on-one training and performances. She has worked with leading interpreters in the field. She has also performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Tanglewood Music Center, Boston-based new music ensemble the Callithumpian Consort, New York City’s Washington Square Ensemble, Los Angeles’ chamber music ensemble the Salastina Society, the Chelsea Music Festival, Jersey City’s Con Vivo Performance Series, and the Canadian Chamber Orchestra of New York City, among others. She has also recently joined Shuffle Concert, a New York City-based, modern day chamber music ensemble that delivers unexpected, inspiring and energetic performances. Recent notable appearances include an appearance as a soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Susan Graham in excepts from Gluck’s Ipegenie en Tauride, a recital tour with select musicians from the Chelsea Music Festival in Taipei, Taiwan, performing in the New York Philharmonic’s production of Honegger’s Jeanne d’Arc, starring Marion Cotillard, and appearing on Live from Lincoln Center as part of a celebration of Danny Elfman’s music from the films of Tim Burton. Adrienne is just as passionate about giving her talents to others, and has been teaching since 2007. She offers classical/opera, musical theater/Broadway, jazz, and pop styles. James has a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Performance from Yale

James received a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Performance from Yale University in 2001 in New Haven, CT.  Before that, James graduated from the University of Houston in Houston, TX with a Bachelors in Music Performance in 1994.   James has been teaching since 1996, and his styles include jazz, rhythm and blues, pop, Broadway, and classical, among other styles.  He is currently on the staff at UCLA as a collaborative pianist and vocal coach for the music department, and over the summer has been on faculty at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, CA and as opera coach for the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival.  He frequently performs throughout Southern California in well-known venues, piano bars and cabarets.  He has directed and played for numerous Broadway productions and for numerous headlining shows.  James is also a concert pianist, performing concertos with several symphonies.  His awards include prizes in the New York Concert Artists Guild International Competition, the National Chopin Competition, the Washington International Piano Competition at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Olga Koussevitsky Piano Competition in New York, the Salon de Virtuosi Awards in New York, the Houston Symphony Ima Hogg National Young Artist Competition, and the title of Top Instrumentalist in the World Championships for the Performing Arts in Burbank, CA.
