Our new piano teacher is Konner

Konner graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering. He has been playing and performing piano since 1996, including studying privately for classical piano since 2003, a songwriter since 2000, and has performed guitar since 2007. Konner began teaching in 2012, and he offers pop, rock, folk, and classical (piano only).


Matt is our new guitar teacher

Matt holds a Bachelor in Music from the East Carolina University Music in Greenville, NC with a double major for Performance and Music Theory/Composition, graduating in 2016. He was awarded Outstanding Graduating Senior and was on the Dean’s lit. Before that, he received an Associate Degree from the Blue Ridge Community College. He has performed (including his own competitions) in solo and ensemble recitals. Matt is a classical and electric guitarist, and offers rock, blues, classical, metal, funk, and experimental styles.

Piano teacher Shiori teaches traditional and Suzuki violin methods

Shiori began her piano studies at the age of five in Tokyo, Japan, receiving grants and prizes as a young child which led to a concerto performance debut at the age of fourteen. She then attended the pre-college at Manhattan School of Music. Shiori graduated from the Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music-Piano Performance. While there, she took piano pedagogy courses and was in a piano teaching internship program for three years. She continued her education at Manhattan School of Music in NY to receive a Master of Music-Piano Performance in 2016. There she held a piano instructor position at Manhattan School of Music’s community division. Shiori plans to continue her education to receive a Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in the fall 2016 at University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Shiori has been teaching since 2008 and offers both traditional and Suzuki methods and offers classical and contemporary styles.

Meet our new teacher, Wilson in Colorado


Wilson received a Bachelor of Music from the University of Colorado at Boulder, CO in 2010. He began playing and studying the guitar at the age of ten, and while still in middle school, he began playing in bands and jazz ensembles that continued through high school. At the age of eighteen, he picked up the banjo and studied with a world renowned banjoist for six years. After graduating from the university, Wilson co-founded a band and toured nationally, while releasing an EP and LP over a five year period. In 2015 he launched his solo project and toured nationally. Wilson began teaching in 2009, and along with teaching, he continues to perform locally at weddings and corporate events, among other venues. His styles he offers are jazz, classical, bluegrass, rock, funk, ska, reggae, and Americana.

Meet our new guitar teacher, Alex

Alex is a guitar player, composer and music teacher, specializing in classical, Flamenco, jazz and world music has over 30 years of experience in music education, theater, live performance and studio sessions. Alex started playing classical guitar at age of eleven and graduated from Glier Music College in Kiev, Ukraine, as a jazz performer (guitar), arranger and composer. In 1988 he debuted at the International Jazz Festival in Ukraine and then started touring performing jazz, and World music. At this time he started thinking about how to infuse world music with jazz vocabulary. In 1991 Alex moved to Israel, and became a part of the Gesher Theater Company where he explored the theatrical application of his original works. Four years later Alex moved to US and continues to teach, record, and perform.

Stewart has a degree in Music Industry Studies

Stewart graduated from the Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA in 2009 with a Certification in Music Industry Studies. He then continued his education at the University CA at Santa Barbara in Santa Barbara, CA in 2011 to receive his Bachelors in Music. Stewart has been playing music since the 4th grade starting with percussion and trumpet, than picked up the guitar in the 6th grade. He has performed in many cover and original bands, which included a 2 month nationwide tour performing country, rock, blues, jazz, and classical. From 2005-2011, Stewart performed in orchestras, symphonies, chambers, and Jazz ensembles, playing the upright and electric bass. Stewart has been teaching since 2008.


Bucharest Music Instructor teaches via skype

Cristian has an M. M. from Bucharest University in Bucharest, Romania, graduating in 1980 with a French Horn Performance and Music Education degree. Christian teaches trumpet, french horn, trombone and piano. He also received a Certificate of Completion post-graduate internship in 1983 with The Black Sea Philharmonic. He has been teaching privately since 1987 and both conducting orchestras and bands, as well as performing and touring both nationally and across Europe since 1977 in orchestras as well as solo performances. For piano, he studied a few years of technical piano classes and was coached in piano by a russian colleague from TSU. He received the Outstanding Teacher Award from the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts in July 2000. The last few years he has performed locally in the Nashville Symphony. Christian is a member of the Nashville Association of Musician.
